Open Url Rewriter  is a open source extension that improve the standard Urls in DotNetNuke.

Exemple : http://www.mysite/en/mypage/myarticle  Demo website

Functionalities

• Rewriting of language part of the url
• Rewriting the page part of the url impendent of the page name
• Rewriting for module parameters
• Hold the history of url’s for redirecting (future)
• No automatic url change on page name change (future)
• Making automatic redirections
• Making customs redirections (future)
• Replace spaces by "-"
• Remove acents carracters and special chars

Concept :

I. Standard Url structure

[potalalias]/[culture]/[page]/[module]?[query parameters]

II. Url parts mapping table

Rewriting based on mapping table between a url part and the corresponding query parameters for cultures items, tab items, modules items.

III. Url Mapping Providers

The mapping table can be created manually or automatically by providers.

Actual providers :

These are the core providers:

• Language Provider : for culture part of url (use of en in place of en-US)
• Tab provider : for page part of the url. Work with multi-language site. (optionally use of keywords field for url)
• Control provider : for terms, privacy, login and register pages (remove tabname and ctl) Work with multi-language site.
• User provider : for user profil pages (userid=45 -> sachatrauwaen)

These are thirt party providers :

• Ventrians Property agent provider : for Ventrian Property agent module (use first custom field as url)
• Apollo Page Localization Provider : for multi-language urls (optionally use of keywords field for url)
• NB Store Provider : for Category and product pages with short friendly urls
