Free DotNetNuke Modules

Do you need a simple hit counter for your website so you can know how many visitors on your site? Well luckly, you can use our free module, it is very easy to install and setup the counter settings. The module is built in template so you can freely modify the css and the template according to your preference.

Module Features

The hit counter can be set based on the following options:

  1. Remove Extension
You have the option to remove .aspx from the link. In DNN version 7.x.x, the core dnn now supports non extension pages for SEO purposes.
  2. Use New Window For External URL
You can make the sitemap link hyperlink to open new window if you set the page settings as external link.
  3. Hide Tabs/Pages
You can hide some pages by adding the pages name into this field.

Module Requirement.

Minimum requirement for this module to run is DNN version 4.8.4. It is compatible with the latest DNN version 7.x.x or above.

How to install the module?

You can follow our quick tutorial by clicking this link on how to install a module extension.

Does having the .aspx extension all over your site really hurt your SEO that badly?

No. It's purely for visual appeal... which may result in improved ranking, but only if people viewing organic search results are trying to read the page URLs and are ignoring the more obvious and relevant titles and descriptions, and only if they decide that a URL without an extension is so much more appealing than an equivalent URL with an extension that they won't click on the latter... and even then, it has to happen enough that Google then de-ranks the one URL against the other.

So, up against all the more genuine SEO improvements one should sort out, this one is fairly irrelevant. But it is nice to have... and easy to implement.
Regards
Rob
