I am using DotnetNuke Store Module as the shopping cart for my application. It has its own database structure and data types with their data fields.

In my project I have to use another existing database to display items.I saw that database has same data but with different data fields. Then I can ask them to update my DNN store module database. But I have to push my Invoice tabale data via a web service.

I want to send a dataset from Invoice table from my database as a web service. It will throw the dataset once the other end rquest it via my web service.I am very new to Web Services and I am doing my developments with C#.Please advice me how can I do this with DNN?

Thank you.

Hi Prasad,

Visual Studio have a wizard to create a wraper class to use your web service. Go to the solution explorer windows, do a right click on the DotNetNuke.Store.Customer.SqlDataProvider project, select "Add > New element..." in the menu, Select "Web Service" and follow the wizard. After this, you will have a new class with some methods corresponding to the availables verbs of your web service. Open the SqlDataProvider.cs, you will find several methods to create/update/delete customers and orders. Replace or complete each methods wtih a call to your web service class verbs. As a sample, inside the CreateOrder method you should leave the call to the ExecuteReader and store his result (the created order) to a local DataReader object, then create a new instance of your web service class and call the  corresponding method to create an order. Do not forget to return the DataReader to the Store module!

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
