Let me start with some version information...

DNN Core:    5.4.2
DNN Store:    2.1.36

  1. I created a new security role "Store Manager".
  2. I created the following pages and assigned permissions as indicated...
    1. Store Front - Page level permissions "All Users, View Permissions".
    2. Shopping Cart - Page level permissions "All Users, View Permissions".
    3. Store Admin - Page level permissions "Store Manager, View Permissions".
  3. On the "Store Front" page I assigned the role "Store Manager" edit permission on the "Store Menu" and "Store Catalog" modules.  This seems to work exactly as I envisioned.  When logged in as a user with the "Store Manager" role assigned I see the edit links and can edit data.
  4. On the "Store Admin" page I also assigned the role "Store Manager" edit permission on the "Store Admin" expecting the same behavior as with modules on the "Store Front" page but that is not the case.

The Issue:  When logged in as a user with the "Store Manager" role assigned I can get to the "Store Admin" page and I see the module's title but I do not see the module content.  I do see the "Module Action Menu" but it contains ony two items "Help" and "Print".

Am I missing something or is does the "Store Admin" user control require that the user have the portal "Administrator" role in order to access its functionality?

Thanks,
Chuck

P.S. The main objective I am trying to accomplish is to be able to assign responsibility to manage the store to a user and NOT give them full Administrator privileges to the website. Specifically, I only want them to be able to edit content related to the store modules. Chuck

Accepted Answer
Did you set the role that is assigned the store management, in the general store admin settings ?
It defaults to Administrators but that can be changed.

That was the problem. As Homer Simpson would say... DOH! :-)  I was staring at the answer the entire time I was checking the module settings.

Thanks Benoît!
