Our catalog does not seem to be automatically sending a response of Order Status Change to Awaiting Payment.

We have to internally change the order status to processing, shipping etc on each order. Any ideas? I am was using DNN 5.4.4 (which had many issues with emails) I have now upgraded to 5.5 and the issues still exist... Any help would be appreciated.

In case I was not clear... I get a similar message below no matter what type of order is placed:

----
You recently placed an order with XXXXXXX

This order (1299) has changed status to "Awaiting Payment".

IMPORTANT: Your order now requires payment. If you wish to pay via a specific method, or would like to cancel your order, please contact us at XXXXXXXX, or simply reply to this message.

You can check the status of your order at any time by logging in to our site and clicking the Order History link.

Once again, thank you for your order.
--------

This message is sent immediately after an order si placed... how can I stop this. Even if a free item is orded that has no charge this email comes through. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

This email is sent automaticaly and you can't avoid this whitout modifying the source code. Could you give me more details (more than 2 lines!) on your needs? May be I could add a setting in a future version?
On the other hand, I appreciate when request start with "Hello" or something similar and which end in "Thanks". Don't forget that all that you find here is free, including quality support! Therefore, a minimum of politeness is greatly appreciated.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Gilles,

I did not mean to come of sounding rude. I apologize up fron for sound as such. I understand where you are coming from...

I really don't have much more information than what I have stated above. The client that uses this module stated that before DNN 5.4.4 they did not have these messages auto generated. They explinaed to me further that this causes an issue when items that are free of charge are "purchased" this message would technically not be needed. They also tell me that if a payment is made durning the checkout process and is paid for the user making a purchase still gets this message making them think the payment did not go through.

It's as confussing to me as it is to you probably and I am not sure of where to turn for this. Especially when the client said this "lack of status changes" was only occouring once we updated to DNN 5.4.4 - Everything seems to work just fine other than this issue.

What enhancements are coming out in the next version - just out of curiosity.

Thanks for your help and advice... truly. My apologies again for the lack of emotion on the first post.

Hi,

I do not say than your comment was rude. It's just than I appreciate a small "Hello" or "Hi" or anything similar. You know than I'm a human and in the real life it's common to say "Hello". :-)

Concerning your problem, this email is sent from a long time I can't remember from which version probably before than I start to work on this project 3 years ago. This is NOT related to your DNN upgrade!
Whatever the gateway provider used, at the minimun 2 emails are sent: the order confirmation email and the "Status Change to Awaiting Payment" email. The reason is simple, imagine a customer confirm an order (first email) then go to PayPal to paid his order (second email), but for any reason the IPN is not received from PayPal or the customer do not continue his payment. In this case, the order is maintened in the status "Awaiting Payment" this allow the Store owner to contact the customer to solve the problem (if any) or to cancel the order if the customer have changed his mind. If the "Email" provider is used, this allow the Store owner to contact the customer (by email) to arrange the payment (check by mail, purchase order and so on). Don't forget than you can change all the text from the module (including email text) using the standard DNN language editor.
On the other hand, I agree with your client than an order with an amont of 0 should not sent the second email, I will look at this for a future enhancement.
Could you specify which Store version you use and the gateway provider used? The last version is 02.01.36 and I should publish a beta version (02.01.37) in days (may be even today or tomorow). I don't want to talk about the new features is a surprise! :-)
