I thought that I could use the store module to manage an inventory/stock control system for tracking the issue of IT stores to various departments in work. I was unable to find a commercial DNN module to do this; all I can find are full blown store modules that were not written for this purpose.

What I need is the ability for the IT team to log into the DNN intranet site as themselves and issue stock (orders & products) to departments (customers? / addresses?) within the building and bill this out.

I can't see how a team can manage the order process from start to finish as the store module seems to work on the assumption that the order process is initiated by logged in customers.

Does anyone know if I can use the store module for this purpose or am I wasting my time? Or is there a commercial stock control module that would meet my needs?

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

The Store module is just a basic e-commerce module. His goal is to collect orders from customers (DNN user accounts) and to send an email to the Store admin. The store admin can't create an order for a customer and it's not an inventory management module. If your need is close to an e-commerce module, may be you could create a module and use the Store module API to create order from scratch.

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
