A new module and related Windows Mobile 5.0 application will be made available to OnyakTech.com subscribers very soon (2 weeks at most).  We'll need beta testers very soon (maybe in a few days), if your interested please post here.

I'm also curious as to how many people have a phone/pda with Windows Mobile 5.0 and internet access.  Do you have this?  How often are you on the internet from your phone?

This new tool is much like SigmaPro DNN Dash (www.SigmaProDraconis.com) but loads Dashboards (H2O Forms) into your mobile device.  With this tool, you will be able to create dashboards for display to specific DNN Roles.  You will also be able to view multiple dashboards at the same time.

Intended use is for CEO's, Sales Agents, Web-Masters, IT Directors (although... you may be satisfied with SigmaPro DNN Dash), etc.  It's also planned for testing by a support answering service center to provide their customers with current real-time call log.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this and if your interested in beta testing.  Thanks!

Hi Chris,

That's good news and I want to encourage this along. I purchased your subscription specifically to produce some web services for clients who will be using mobile devices as part of their workflow, so I'm most definitely keen on any further development you carry out in this area.

As well, any further integration with commonly used applications (MS Office suite) is highly desirable and so I'm also always looking out for any continuing development along those lines. Office extends to Sharepoint, Project and also the Office Live products that are underway at the moment. Mobile devices are ideal for handling notifications and also managing minor input tasks. It sounds like the forms/dashboards will go in that direction.

Personally I use a WM5  iMate Jamin (HTC Prophet) with internet over Wi-fi or GRPS and although I don't currently use it with my DNN sites, I would certainly like to.

Good to hear.  I was starting to think that it still may be a few years before people start taking advantage of the Microsoft OS on phones/PDA's.  I use the Palm Treo with the Microsoft Mobile 5.0 operating system and Broadband/Nation internet access to monitor company stats and provide support from anywhere (not just local hot spots or over my networks WiFi).

Have you been using the new mobile application for SigmaPro?  If so, what are your thoughts?  Personally, I use it all the time and I couldn't imaging not having it.  Having the ability to view and respond to support requests, view current site stats, look-up sales orders, etc from anywhere (in traffic, hiking, client site, restaurant, on the beach, etc) is priceless.

The mobile application for SigmaPro is a little different then the dashboard mobile application in that it allows you to submit comments to tickets and will soon include more interaction as well.   The Dashboard mobile application is a spin-off from that tool but uses H2O forms to render the dashboard to the mobile device.  This will allow complete customization over the dashboard using a tool most OnyakTech subscribers are already familiar with.  You even have the option of creating a dashboard for specific DNN Roles to secure information to authorized personnel only.

In regards to the Office add-ins, the current add-ins by OnyakTech for Outlook and Microsoft Project will remain as is for Office 2000 to 2003.  This hold on Office add-on releases is due to our current development efforts for Office 2007.

In other words, there will be some big releases this spring by OnyakTech for SigmaPro, SigmaLive and H2O that include Microsoft Office add-ons and Mobile applications.

Since this is an area you are interested in, I would love to hear your feedback as this progresses.
