Hi Everyone,

I am new to DotNetNuke and have run into a perplexing error.

My Environment is... Win XP, ASP.NET 2.0, DotNetNuke 4.4.1. Sql Server 2k5

I installed DotNetNuke using the Starter Kit, and all was good until I ran the Site Wizard.

Now trying to Navigate to any Page I get redirected to a Page with An error has occurred. written twice with the Red Triangle Graphic. The URL of the page I was redirected to is http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Value+cannot+be+null.%0d%0aParameter+name%3a+type&content=0

Is there any Tables I should be looking on the DB to get more info about the Error? or Should I re-install from Scratch?

I am not sure if my predicament was caused by an bug, or what I inputted into the Site Wizard. I have been using a book called Professional DotNetNuke (Chapter 4) talks about using the Site Wizard.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Mark

Hey a colleague of mine encountered this problem too. I'm just going to reinstall DNN. Anyone know why the wizard doesn't work? I didn't even know about the wizard -- my colleague just told me he tried to use it and said the site is down now. He said there were a lot of broken links, like backslashes and forward slashes in the image urls. I'm using 4.4.1 SQL 2005. Can we disable this so clients (and my colleagues) can't destroy the sites again???

Mark,

I am getting the same thing:  after running the site Wizard,  I get the same error presentation.

The only thing that I can figure is something in the 'Tabs' table in the db is pointing to something bad.  I think this is where the reference to tabid=36 (the row referencing the Home page) is coming from.  Unfortunately my experience with this platform can be expressed in hours, so I can't really offer any more guidance, and I am looking for help myself.

Good luck, (to us all)

I think I just replied, but now I have some answers...  I was able to fix it by copying in the files from my installation /bin/ folder to the /bin/ folder of my website.  I only copied those that were 'missing' (I say this only because I am not sure they were really all supposed to be there at the end of the installation.)

Hope this helps,

Add me to the list... Some way I think it is related to changing the skin. That´s what I did before getting the error.

Now I cannot even login... nor see anything else in the page, but that:

An error has occurred.
An error has occurred.

Any ideas?
