Well, I checked into the membership provider. According to Microsoft's website it says asp.net 2.0 or 3.0 is required. System.Web.Security Membership class doesn't seem to be in 1.1 but then
Microsoft.ScalableHosting.Security.SqlMembershipProvider is mentioned in web.config, so this situation is confusing.

If Membership.Provider.ChangePassword.... results in name 'Membership' is not declared. I do have a Imports System.Web.Security

DNN 3.x used a backported version of the membership provider (a special version that ran on asp.net 1.1)...

I am using DNN 4.4 and have a question regarding membership.
I have a hosted asp.net site using ASP.NET 2.0 membership provider for the main website,
with a virtual directory for the DNN Portal.

Is it possible to integrate the 2 login mechanisms?

I am new to DNN -
I did look at the membership documentation, but it was for version 3.x and said the 2 db schemas were not compatable.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!
