Alright, I'm pretty new to DNN. I've finally got it installed after having some of the troubles other people had with the 1and1 host, but now it seems to be running fine. I've messed around just kind of to get the feel of stuff, but now I think I'm ready to start actually working on building the site and was wondering what modules I need to get... or if there are even modules out there for what I need to do. If not, I can improvise until I get something worked out.

Alright, here's what I need to do. Basically, the site is going to have video game news, reviews, and other similar content. The first thing I need is to be able to allow certain other people to create new pages on the site. For that, I'm guessing I can just give their account admin privileges though(unless there is a better way).

Second, I would like the home page to show a link to the newest content along with maybe the first paragraph and a picture.

I think the rest of the stuff I need, I can figure out. So, are there any module(s) out there that would do what I'm wanting?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think I explained that clear enough, but, if I need to be clearer on anything, just tell me.

I will take a stab at this one.  First of all welcome to the DNN family.

The Repository module (free) is one of the best available for categorizing and displaying catalogs of organized content.      Other options include multi-use modules:
Several Article type modules including News Articles and Articles
Active Forums which can be used as a repository and forum module.
XMod is great for creating your own custom form repository.

Have fun!

Thanks for the help and the warm welcome :)

I'll try out those modules to see if they're what I'm looking for.
