Does anyone know if it is possible to hide the URL, (or at least hide the file location) when the link is to a file on the site.  Within the text editor I need to link to pdf files on my site which only registered users are supposed to see, but the links have the full path to the file.  Is there a way to disguise the path, yet still make the file available for downloading?  I am using the FCK editor.

Hi, on one of our sites we used the repository module and it displays the document name and when the user hovers over it only the document id is visible. They click on it and they are able to download/view the files. Our files were pdfs. We had another portal that we created a module for and we did the same thing. We displayed the name and it was hyperlinked with just the id visible and they would click on it and then it would do something like this: they wouldn't see where the file was.

Response.ContentType =

By using the Text Editor and putting it into a Text/Html module you aren't really able to hide the URL, but I suppose you could still do something similar to what we did and have your Html just link with an id or something and have another page that will actually return the file to the client.

Hope this helps.

"application/pdf";
Response.AddHeader(
"Content-Type", "application/pdf");
Response.AddHeader(
"Content-Disposition", "attachment;Filename=" + Path.GetFileName(fileLocation));
Response.TransmitFile(fileLocation);
Response.End();
