Have you figured this out yet?  I want to batch load users accounts and passwords from a network directory (using a JDBC connection) and keep them in sync as users change their passwords in the directory.  I've been trying to figure out the DES3 encryption of the passwords, the keys etc. but have not been successful.  I've seen someone suggest just assigning a default tpassword because you would already see the encryption in the DB, and then let users change it thru the GUI.  This will not work in my environment.  Imagine telling several hundred users that they all have a default pasword of.....   Has anyone implemented password encryption for dotnetnuke using the SQL 2005 built-in functions?

Password management is done by the Microsoft membership component, that is bound is using the DNN membership component. you should rely on DNN business layer instead of trying to access data directly in your modules!
