I am new to the DNN newsletters but they seem simple enough.  My only problem is that any image that I place in the Newsletter will not show in the recipients email.  Even when I manually enter the html code:

<P><IMG height=100 alt=911TruthSeattle.jpg src="http://www.911TruthGroups.org/Portals/Seattle/911TruthSeattle.jpg" width=700 border=0>Test image</P>

When I "Send Email" the DNN Newsletter code seems to change the code to:

<P><IMG height=100 alt=911TruthSeattle.jpg src="/Portals/Seattle/911TruthSeattle.jpg" width=700 border=0>Test image</P>

...and the images don't show in the Recipients email.

Can someone help me understand this problem and point me at a solution?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

I am going to be of no help as I am having exactly the same problem!
All the images I am using are uploaded to a file on the portal, and they all show in the WYSIWYG newsletter editor. But when the email is sent there is just a whole lot of little red squares. Not exactly the look I'm going for!

Any help anyone?

Cheers,
Peter

The problem is that by default, editors and text/html use relative paths and no full paths.

tree options there:

1) You can use the BASE HREF to tell the mail client to use a common base url for your images:
http://www.ideaeng.com/pub/entsrch/issue08/article03.html

2) Create or use a custom module that fixes relative paths for sending mails

3) (My favorite) Switch to FCKeditor and set the FULL URL ON, then all your image urls will be converted to full instead of relative

Thanks locopon.  It is a good tip and I tried it.  Since my problem is the DNN Newsletter I tried to add the line <base href="http://911TruthGroups.org/">.

When I would switch to the Standard Default DNN Editor's Design tab and then back the line is gone as well as the first part of any complete URL (http://911TruthGroups.org/...").  The editor automatically strips the html.  How can I stop that?
