I get this error when I attempt to use the Event Viewr. I've looked at the forum and it seems that the underlying problem is thatthe LogGUID field [and others] in the EventLog table is set to "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" and the TempDB uses the Collation: "Latin1_General_CI_AS". I think this ibecause my local instance of the SQL 2000 service is set to one and my [remote, ISP server based] SQL 2000 instance is set to the other. When I first set this website up, I did it locally, then backed up the database, FTP-ed it up to server and then restored........

I arrived at the the following four possibilities:

1. Delete the existing DB and start again. Longish job as I need to retain all the clients data.
2. Change the collation on the tempDB to match. not practical as this db is used across a number of databases.
3. Change the collation on the Event Log fields to match the TempDB. This was my preferred approach as it was minimal. problem is, the  "Latin1_General_CI_AS" collation isn't in the dropdown list in the [design table>Select field>Collation ] dialogue for the table. :(
4. Change the relevant SQL strings to match. this is fine until I upgrade the website to the next version of DNN....... So this isn't practical.

Any suggestions?

Duncan.
