I use the FCKeditor for editing all of my Text/HTML modules. I do most of the text content on my production web site www.AgingSafely.com. Periodically I back it up and move it to my localhost/ASI3.  Links to pages on my server turnout usually to be absolute and not relative.

  • This means that they point back to the production server while I am developing on my localhost site.
  • This means that IF I add content at my localhost I have to test and re-edit every link - Yuk

Also in the Forum Module images that are pointed to and located in the File Manager don't show up and exist in the File Manager at the correct place.

This makes localhost development very difficult except for skins etc.

How can I force FCKeditor to use relative URLs when I want them?

The forum modules isn't as big a deal, but it would still be nice if I didn't have to tweak links all of the time. Right now my production site is fairly static, but in a month this will be more of a problem.

At this moment, DNN generates urls relative from the root level.

i.e. /myapp/myfolder/myfile.ext

and it works fine when working with root applications, but the problem comes when using application folders.

Next release will include an option to remove the /myapp folder
