Hi folks,

I'd like to know (just curiosity), what's involve in the release process of a module. Sometimes take weeks, but what you really do in this time... Do you check the quality of the module, or just check that the installation process and/or upgrade process work with no errors?...

March and April had been with a lot of work for the DMM team, fir you release the DNN 4.5, and couple of modules: Feedback, FAQ, Installer, XML, IFrame, Links, and Events. Now it is in the queue couples of modules such as FORUM, BLOG, WIKI, SURVEY...

Just wonder...What are the variables involve in the release process (Time, Schedule, Control). What type fo test do you need to do before release the version to the public?. Is there some quality control involve?, do you review the change log?..

Thanks,

That's a great question. I am just about to begin a series of blog entries about the release process, how it was designed and how it's implemented. Check my blog later today for the first entry.

Looking forward your blog. I am very curious about the release process...Sometime is really fast, sometimes take forever...

I assume that a quick fix in a module version take less time to be released that a very big release. For instance, from Forum 3.20.08 to 3.20.09 should take less time that from Form 3.20.09 to 4.04.00 (TBR)....

Cheers,
