Hi ,
 
                                       Iam new to dotnetnuke. Yesterday I downloaded DotNetNuke_04.05.00_Install.zip and installed in my system. It installed successfully. I opened the http://127.0.0.1/ and it come up with a portal. I logged in as administrator and did some work around with the help of the video tutorial available. After that I logged in with host account and tried to create a new portal to work. But all my trails are in vain. Iam not even able to locate a tutorial in web.
 
And one more thing I noticed when I logged as administrator is in the control panel for page creation iam getting only few(7) modules in the selectbox. Where as in tutorials I saw so many modules in the select box.
 
Please help me how to create portals. Please provide me with some tutorials and let me know whether I have to install any thing regarding modules

In regards to the portal setup.  I assume you were trying to setup a child portal?  Did you receive any errors when trying to create it?

In regards to the modules, by default DNN only installs a minimal set of modules, you can add others by logging in as host and going to the Module Definitions page.  From there you will see a list of "available" modules.  You can also download and install additional third party modules.

   Thanks for replying.I want to create a new parent porta.Is there any documentaion for this.I also want to now the creation of child portal procedure.
