About the Google Search Box - applied to Lee Sykes Red Leaf Skin.

After I got the HouseMenu working and the page looked OK, I added a Text Module in the content pane and set it to display on all pages.

I then entered the Google search box Code and it pushed down both Left and Right Pane content below the Content pane. On one page it even moved the existing Module to the bottom pane.

Finally I wasn’t able to delete this Modules, I had to go in and remove the Google Code before I could delete the Module!!

Anyone had similar problems?
Anyone using the Google Search box?

Cheers

If you are using the google search box with the "<form>" tag included you must modify the script before you can successfully use it within your DNN site.

ON my blog I have a posting regarding the use of Form Submission links within ASP.NET and DNN.  my site is www.mitchelsellers.com

Thanks Mitchel

Posting it as well - maybe I'm not alone stuffing up this task.

I entered the code without the <Form Tags> (See Below) and at leased it doesn’t mess up my entire site any longer.

But I can’t figure out where to fit in the “Button Action Code” ???
Google Code supplied – not yet installed:
method="get" action="http://www.google.com.au/custom" target="google_window">

JAVA Script?
onClick="this.form.action='YourUrlHere';this.form.submit();"

Existing Code (without form tags) copied from a DNN Module:
<div align="center">
<table align="center" bgcolor="#ffffff" border="0">
    <tbody>
        <tr>
            <td valign="top" nowrap="nowrap" align="left" height="32"><a href="http://www.google.com/"><img alt="Google" align="middle" border="0" src="http://www.google.com/logos/Logo_25wht.gif" /></a></td>
            <td nowrap="nowrap"><input type="hidden" name="domains" value="www.goldcoastwebwiz.com" /> <label style="display: none" for="sbi">Enter your search terms</label> <input id="sbi" maxlength="255" size="31" name="q" type="text" /> <label style="display: none" for="sbb">Submit search form</label> <input id="sbb" type="submit" name="sa" value="Search" /></td>
        </tr>
        <tr>

Thanks Mitchel for your E-mail reply.

Your suggestion seem to be working fine.

At least the button works and opens the Google window.

The window displays the following though:

Not Implemented

The server is unable to process your request.

Might be a delay in the Google functions????

Cheers

That almost sounds like a bug in the google system.

You can easily test that by building an HTML page with the exact code as delivered from google, if it can launch ok then there is a problem with the information in you DNN site.
