Anyone know of any good website analytics (like a Webtrends) that can work with the DotNetNuke site logging.  If not, any recommendations on website analytic programs for use with a DNN website?

Basically the boss wants to see some more detailed reports than what DNN can do with the Site Log.  Specifically he wanted to know the click path & time of particular users to see what certain people are looking at.  Suggestions welcome...  Thanks!

I personally do not use the site log at all with DNN and I use Google Analytics for all of my website tracking.

However, if you are looking for user specific tracking you will need to investigate third party modules but I am not sure what al exists out there.

I am using Google Analytics as well with my site, however it doesn't provide the granular level that my boss is desiring.  I am looking at the third party modules on snowcovered.com but haven't been that impressed with what's out there.  I was hoping someone else might know of a DNN module or non-DNN module.

Are you hosting your own site or is it elsewhere?  If hosting it yourself, I recommend running Smarter Stats on your web server. http://www.smartertools.com/

They have a free version that is pretty robust which provides some great reporting features.

We still use Urchin (they got bought by google) but I do have one server running Analog stats against a DNN site and it works pretty good for a free package.

The problem with most of the log analysers is that DNN loads a ton of ascx, css, js files for every page load so a lot of the stats are bogus unless you filter out a lot of file types. Plus you have the problem that every page is technically the same default.aspx file from the root folder. Thus you end up having only 2 indicators of traffic user sessions, and sorting data by folder/subfolder. This is fine for the basics but it really doesn't give you more than a google analytics after all the garbage filtering.

I havn't tried the new webservice version of WebTrends but their server version from years ago that we had was a steaming pile of %$% and an expensive one at that.

Just my 2cents.
