We had a major problem with the db for a dnn 3.3 installation.  We had to restore an old copy of the db.  Now, we cannot login AT ALL or register a new user to then mark it as an admin.

When we try to login it seems to accept the login but does not show the host or admin panels to allow us to fix the site.

Any ideas ?  Will send beer for help.

Mike

Did the version of the db you restored use the same machine key as key in your current web.config?

Seeing how you cant login, the machine key might be the problem. A new installation will generate a new machine key.

Seeing how you cant register a new user, the machine key might not be the problem.

Perhaps your site is in preview mode, where you cant edit any module...

Thank you both for your help.  It may have been a machine key situation.  However, it took my post so long to get onto this site that I chose to rebuild the site instead with a clean install.  It only took all weekend.

Thanks again.
