Hello i am currently using joomla for my town portal at the moment, i am also using phpbb for my forum. I am thinking of converting the site over to DNN.. Are there any tools available to make the forum transfer easier.

To my knowledge there are not any transfer tools out there to perform the switch, but I am quite sure that you could could do it manually if needed.

I have yet to find a DNN forum module that even comes close to phpbb... If the forum is a big part of your community site- I'd give a lot of consideration to the end-user experience of such a migration.

I don't know your exact situation but y01nk makes a good point about using the right tool for the job. What would be interesting is figuring out a way to use the DNN membership provider as a webservice to feed outside services even PHP ones like PHPBB.
