How vulnerable is DNN susceptible to SQL Injection? Are there any settings that I can change to prevent it from occurring etc.

As leupold mentioned, the core is very secure in my opinion, as for third-party modules that really depends on the individual module, however, I believe that most modules also utilize stored procedures and parameters to protect themselves as well.
