For our Newsletter we need a simple newsletter signup form (just Name and Email), but with the option for verification via double-opt in. We don't actually need a mailing module, since this will be handled with an extra tool - but it won't do any harm if it could do mailings.
I guess it is not possible to do this with the core modules? Any recommendation for free or commercial modules?
thanks in advance,
felix

I use the Orizonti Newsletter Module it is very simple and free.  It can do the mailings as well as has a sign up form.  You can get it at http://www.orizonti.com/default.aspx?tabid=713

Thanks for your reply,
i added the module immediately and it works fine. Because they give away the source i could even change the layout to suit my needs. For it to work with 4.5.1 I had to manually copy the FreeTextBox dll in the bin folder.
Only con (for me): no Double-Opt-In.

Glad to hear it works well for you.  As far as double opt in, whou could require the users to register on the site to be able to opt in then have them add their email address to the mailing list, which would work as a method of double opt in (thats how I handle that issue).

Thanks for your suggestion, but that way would be to long: It's these standard dnn register procedure i want to avoid. Send the user an email immediately after their sign-in with the option to confirm is, as far as i know, the easiest way to avoid spamming.
