I am looking at deploying DotNetNuke and really like what I have seen so far, but I am now looking for a feature that I have not found. I am wondering how others have setup staging servers. Is there a way to queue up changes and then perform a batch release? Can I make changes to a page and save them in a “draft area”? I hope I am not missing the obvious.

From what I have found so far all my changes are instantly published. Should I be looking for another technology outside Nuke to help me out with this?

Thanks in advance.

The easiest way that I have used is to have the staging server also reference the production server in the portal alias settings under the Admin site settings area.  Once you are ready to deploy, as long as everything is to your specifications then copy any files that you have added to the Production server, then copy your database data from the staging server to the production server.

If there are large amounts of data and files to transfer you might want to put a temporary html file indicating the server is temporarily down for maintanence that is displayed until your server data is completed.

Thanks Russ, that info is helpful. So, I'm not missing anything, there is no way to create a draft within Nuke.

Has anyone developed an automated system to help out with publishing changes from a stagging server? I primarily want to use nuke for a CMS for a large website. It would be ideal is any editor could queue up and release just there changes when desired.
