Hi,

Im not sure if this is the right forum but I was wondering where to (humbly) post feature requests.
I've read a few threads about assigning a user the right to administrate other users but i havn't found any answers to this. What I would like to see in DNN is a "semi-admin"

A user that you can assing a role to authorize new users and assigning them to given roles. Ie have a very limited access to the normal admins "edit user accounts".

regards
/OlaD

I'd like to see all admin privs exposed to checkboxes, and be assignable to security roles that we create.

[ ] Pages: Create, Delete, Manage (get into Settings)

[ ] Add modules to pages (and a list of available modules and check the ones they can use!)

[ ] Users: View Users, Manage Users, None

[ ] Edit any / all portal content

[ ] Event Log: View, Manage, None

[ ]  FileManager: View, Edit, None

If FileManager Edit, then

  [ ] Create Folders

  [ ] Delete Folders

  [ ] Upload files

  [ ] Delete Files

  [ ] Rename Files

  [ ] Edit Files

Et cetera

Not sure if these things are broken down in this way in core, but it would be great to be able to create roles with selected privileges like this. Admin is required but too powerful for many of our client/users.

Maybe my examples are a bit too granular, but take it as suggestive ...

AFAIK we all know, that there is room for improvement, but with limited resourced, not everything can be handled as quick as users would like it to be done.

Regarding extended admin options, there is a nice enhanced ControlPanel from Dave Buckner, check it out!

Didn't expect it tomorrow ...      just think that considering such a direction would be useful.

Thanks re: Buckner's control panel - will check it out.
