Is there a way to go back to the original functionality?  I liked it better the old way for several reasons:

  • I don't feel the need to provide a web search capability. If people want to search via Google then they should go to Google.
  • I now have re-layout my skin to make the buttons look right. The radio buttons mess-up the layout of each of my skins.
  • I have fought hard to avoid pop-ups and here pops up another one to trap users.

If this can't be switched off then it is a stability release that will require  re-work in most of the thousands of skins that exist for DNN. I noticed that the DotNetNuke skin for 4.5.3 has been tweaked to have space for the new buttons.

I might have thought different if it used Google to search my site since DNN's search is really limiting, but I don't view this new functionality as useful.

since it was a 'mistake' ..  I'd assume it was corrected in 4.5.3??
