We'd like to look at using DotNetNuke for delivering SQL Server views to clients.  We'd need to provide a browsing interface (eg. data grids with filter capabilities) and the ability to export to Excel, Access etc.

We would want to use roles (or whatever) to restrict the data sources the user can see (perhaps we have to do this by restricting access to different pages).

Does anyone have any advice or experience using DotNetNuke in this way?

Thanks in advance.

Yes I work with a DNN system that does a lot of that type of thing for my primary employer.  We have a 3+ million record data warehouse of sorts that our DNN module serves as a front end for...

All of our functionality is custom written, but we fully integrate into the role model within the DNN core.

You can try third party module from http://components.init.si/. It supports all your request.
