I need to build a small site for a small organization.  We would like it to be hosted.  Can anyone sketch the process and suggest any reliable providers?  We were looking at webhost4life, but we are new to this game and would like to know the experience of others.  Please reply and let us know who to avoid and who to trust.

I personally use 3Essentials for all of my hosting and I have to say taht I could not be happier!  Great speed, decent plans and awesome support!

Here is a link, it is a referral link to their site so it helps me out - http://www.3essentials.com?3eref=13422

I have been on a few other providers before, but settled with 3essentials and will never turn back to any previous companies that I was with!

Take your time and be selective. You want to find a host that understands DNN and has a good track record in this community. What is very important is to find a host that is not going to put you on a server with several hundred other sites. This can lead to security and performance issues. And be certain that your site has it's own application pool, this will isolate it from other applications/sites on that server.

All that said, and as I host in house now, I can tell you who I would not use, I had a terrible experience with Webhost4Life.

HTH and best of luck..

I run a site for a youth football club with 500 members and about 35 contributors, it uses webhost4life and although there have been some problems, their support guys are usually on the ball and are able to fix any issues quickly. Like most things in life you do get what you pay for so if you are using one the cheaper services then there are likely to be a lot of users on your server, you can always ask to be put on another server if you are experiencing performance problems however I have not needed to.

Best of luck, John
