I had an instance within this past week where my site began to load more slowly than usual.  After asking for some assistance from my web host, they suggested that I clear the log in the Log Viewer of DNN.  Now, it may be coincidence, or there may be something to it.  But once I cleared out my log, the site did indeed appear to be much more responsive.

I ask some of you who are more intimate with that portion of source code than I am...  Is there anything to this?  Does the log slow down DNN at times?

I've seen this happen too.  Once the log starts getting a little big, things slow down.  If it gets back enough, my system becomes practically unusable.  Not sure what causes this.

Yes it does have an effect.  Why I am not 100% sure, but I know that I now keep the log clean on a regular basis on all of my DNN sites.
