I am coming across a simple need: i would like to be able to allow access to a module for a subset of roles. I have two modules with almost identical content, one for an extended set of security roles, one for unregistered and registered users. Once the new extended roles are assigned, i would like to only show the 'extended' modules. But because everyone is essentially a registered user, this becomes impossible.

If i could click to exclude a module from access if a certain role is found, then the base module(s) would magically disappear if the signed-in user had my extended role assigned. I am sure i can do this with a purchasable module, but out-of-the-box, it seems hard.

If this is hard to follow: put more succinctly: i want to show a module to registered users, but not to a registered user who is also in the role of ExtendedUser, as i have a second module specifically for them. I am currently building extra roles to handle this, but as the # of scenarios grows.. this becomes a chore. thanks, drew..

I also noticed this lack of functionality.

Thus far I have released 1 free module 'Text/HTML Deniable" which is available for free via my website = http://www.mitchelsellers.com/Software/DNNTextHTMLDeniable200/tabid/255/Default.aspx

If I get time I am going to try and get a few other modules setup like this.

thanks kindly Mitchel.. in this particular case, the text module is the one in question, so i will try out your effort, much appreciated. I do have it working with additional roles in play, but this is am more logical approach, and requires no manual intervention of the removal of a role from a client's roleset.. cheers, drew..
