I checked our server and it is running out of space.

I found the issue in the following folder: "C:\Documents and Settings\MYSERVER\ASPNET\Local Settings\Temp"  there are 7 tmp files over 1 gb. and some as large as 8 gb.  Some of the names are "~cpe{E6A05964-3CFA-4A17-83C0-8FE506C92B02}.tmp", "~cpe{6B14034B-E1C3-40DB-B0CF-455416DE7792}.tmp", "~cpe{1D4C2F7B-9E94-49DE-90B1-7024EA5B48C8}.tmp", and ........

1) Is it safe to delete them?

2) What can I do to stop the files from getting so large in the future.

Thanks,

Dean

if you stop IIS ("iisreset /stop") , it should bes ave to delete the files. they are created by ASP.Net, not DNN

The folder is used for temporary storage of the ASPNET user which is probably assigned as the annonymous web user on a website.

Getting files in this folder is most likely caused by someone doing very large uploads to your server and the process is getting aborted before completion.  I can't understand how it would get up to 8GB though.
