i am developing a web portal, in this portal the client requires the login and password boxes on the home page so that the user can directly enter user information and login. the format of login boxes will be very simple.

The problem is that when i place signin.ascx control on the home page without a pane, it displays an error "tagprefix is not registered".

Later i tried to insert two text boxes with a login button and placed code in button's click event. there is another problem now, which is that my site is continuosly displaying the login boxes on every page, as these boxes were included in the skin directly.

please suggest any solution.

You can just add the "Account Login" Module on to the home page and even hide or change the container.
To hide the login module, after successful login, set the permissions in the module to "unauthenticated"  instead of all users.

Simply add an "Account Login" module from the modules dropdown onto the page.

Dear TMMworld,

Thanx for your response and specialy the point about setting permission to unauthenticated is going to help in future as well.

another problem how to change the existing module (i.e. account login), coz when i change the placement of controls or add controls in "admin\security\signin.ascx", system starts to generate error on the page.

How could I hide the Register Link in DNN 4.7?

Ricky.
