Hi,

I have a DNN 4.4.1 portal with a user trying to register.  The problem is the woman has two last names (Jane Smith-Johnson@email.com) for an email name.  When she tries to register, the email validation reports invalid email.

Is there a way to fix this to allow this kind of email address?

THanks,

Jerry

Is her email "smith-johnson" or "jane smith-johnson"?  A hyphen should be allowed but a space is not.  If it's just the hyphen, then the validation needs to be updated, though I can't point you to that section of code.

It's a known issue. On that link, closer to the bottom, there is a solution.

Thanks for pointing me to that.  I'm using DNN 4.4.1 and I don't see where I can edit the validation for the Email Address.  I went to ADMIN>User Settings>Manage Profile Properties.  I don't see anywhere where I can add the validation code.  Is this possible with 4.4.1 version.. because it appears they are talking about 4.5.3 and above in the thread your provided.

Thanks for the help.

Jerry

The issue is with validation Reg expression. So, find the file which has the registration form and replace Reg exp it has for the one from the post I've cited.
