I have a sell running DNN 4.5.3 site www.AgingSafely.com. I cloned it to my localhost and tried an upgrade to DNN 4.5.5 with the following failure. How do I troubleshoot this?

I have WinMerg'ed the DNN 4.5.5 release into the existing web.config and it seemd happy even on the DNN 4.5.3 system. I also have done all of the IIS start-stop dance hopping that this just some cache issue, but no luck.

That exception happens when DNN can't load the current or default skin properly.  Might some of the skin files have been lost or corrupted?

Hope it helps,

Actually the 'fix' truened out to be to restore the site from backup, just the way I had cloned/moved it. Then apply the DNN4.5.3 upgrade to insure that ann of the DNN files were ok. I use my own skin not DNN's so this wouldn't have helped with the skin.  Then upgrade to DNn4.5.5. The upgrade worked ok this time, up testing revieled that DNN 4.5.5 can't import portats that were exported with DNN 4.5.5 since they left out importaing som eof the new properties, so I have to stay with DNN 4.5.3 for a long time.

Thanks for your quick responce,

/DaveS

If you'll check John Mitchell's forums at snapsis.com, you'll find that there is a quite simple fix for the portal export/import issue.
