We have a server with Win2003 Server 64-bit OS, so we installed SQL Server 2005 64-bit version that comes with MSDN. We are doing a fresh DNN 4.5.5 install and for some reason cannot connect to the db with the specified user. We have set passwords correctly. Anyone know if there are any issues with running DNN on SQL Server 2005 64-bit version?

Thanks.

We ran into some issues in my company with ASP.NET on 64 bit machines.  For starters, we have one application that uses an ODBC entry.  We quickly found out that in order for our application to even see the ODBC entry, we had to make sure it was made with the 32-bit ODBC Administrator.  (Not the one in Control Panel or it was invisible.)  ...To do this, one has to run the following EXE.  C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

Secondly, we had to run one of our applications in 32-bit mode on the 64 bit server.  Here's a KB article on how to do that.

I have 2 sites using 64 bit SQL server, one is at a webhost, and one on an internal company server.  I have no issues with either, and it required no more setup than on a 32bit SQL server.

Thanks,

Mike

We too use 64 bit SQL Server, and there is no special configuration. I will say, that using the 64 bit SQL can (with some DBs) show a considerable performance increase.
