I just opened my first new DNN site a few months ago.  The site log gives me some information but I need better STATS.

Any suggestions of a good module to install ( or other way) to tell me how many people come to the site, where they came from, how long they were there, where they went then they got there, what keywords did they use to get there, what times of day are the most popular, what days are best, etc, etc, etc...

Without good stat info, I can't know what i need to do to convert better.

I personally use Google Analytics, it is free and works great.  I disabled my site log on my site.

To integrate Google Analytics there are MANY ways possible, depending on your exact needs.

You can use a specific Google Analytics module, you can use a text/html module or you can put the code directly in your skin.  It depends on the level of tracking.

I just use a text/html module, but with this method it does NOT track activity on admin pages or pages that do not display other modules (IE Forum post etc..)

To see how I have it implemented please see this post on my site: http://www.mitchelsellers.com/Blogs/tabid/54/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/53/Adding-Google-Analytics-to-DotNetNuke.aspx

Thanks Mitchel,

It looks like the easiest thing to do will be to add a text/html module, then copy and paste the google analytics code to there.  then just set that module to be viewed by admin only.  Is that right?

I'm not sure Google Analytics will give me all the stats I'm looking for but it is a start and better than nothing.

Thanks again
