Hi

I am just wondering why dotnetnuke still uses its own menu system. The menu system that comes vanilla with .NET 2.0 is powerful.

Why is this?
Because it was easy to port?
Because the DNN menu system is more powerful?

first of all dotnetnuke works in both asp.net 1.1 and 2.0, which the existing menu solution (solpart) supports. It's also been tested with an extensive number of browsers (including mac) and works well. I believe Jon (coreteam member and solpart developer) is looking at creating an aspnet menu provider, that can be plugged in by setting a web.config setting (see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/187/Default.aspx for some initial details)
