I have just created a new install (v4.6.2 Install) on my developement machine. Everything went perfect. Created my custom app and added data. All is well. Move the install to my production machine. Modify aliase in db. Bring up the new site perfect. Go to login and I get a failure to authorize the login. Login appears to work no message that login failed, but the admin and host tabs are not accessible. If I login with invalid credentials I get the proper error message.

Very strange.

So, I backed my local install, reinstall my production version locally and it works as expected.

Any thoughts?

Thanx in advance

Thanx

Just in case anyone read this and is wondering what happened, it appears ASP.NET has a problem with sub domain authentication.

E.g. If you have a domain.ca and sub.domain.ca, then you will have problems authenticating against both at the same time. I found I have to logout of one domain to get into the other. In other words delete the cookie for *.domain.ca then you can authenticate against either domain but not both.

Thanx
