Hi,

It seems the msn bot generates an error in my event log? How to avoid this?

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

I still at times get the error from MSN bot. If I try the link in my browser I do not receive any error at all. Does anybody has a clue?

J.

You could modify/create a robots.txt file to have the bots skip that path...(as a workaround).  I would need to look into the issue to determine the root cause.

The bots aren't browsing your site in the same way a visitor with a normal web browser does and they always cause errors like that. They also cause errors trying to find content that may have shifted since the last trawl.

Always check the browser in the error and if it's dubious looking then I think the error can be ignored. You can be pretty certain that no one is seeing a dead page in any case.

Rob
