Hi,

While browsing over the folders of the installation on my web server, I noticed some directories made by installed modules.
I removed that modules and while doing that I checked "remove files".
- Is it safe to remove these directories and files ?
- Is there a way to check the database on old not used files?
- Is there a clean utility available ?

With regards, Ton Hermes

What directories and files are you talking about exactly ... stuff in the DesktopModules folder?

I believe that my default there are no files stored in the database.

No cleanup utility as far as I know ... but I've been wrong before :}-

Ton,

  • after you removed module definition, you can safely remove the associated subfolders in desktopModules directory. Be aware, that some modules might share folders (especially those with sattelite modules like dashboards, categories,...).
  • Installation files have no reference in the database except in module definitions and module controls tables
  • cleanup files need to be part of the modules to clean associated database objects (tables and sprocs)

Hi,

I removed the old files.
Everything went OK.
Again, thanks for the answers.
