Nice implementation Jeff.

What I don't understand is how and why the Google AJAX API is free. Google released the free version of Google Custom Search as lon gas you have Adsense ads on it. With the AJAX API they are not making any money - it seems to be in competiton (and is a better product offering) than GCS. I guess I was expecting to see an AJAX version of Google CS that I could easily implement on my site.

 

Mamlin (from EguanaSolutions) has gone into a bit of detail on how to put the AJAX search mod on my Search page only (I don't want it on every page).

Do you know if the RSS functionality still works when the core search is not running?
