When I try to sync thefiles using file manager under admin menu I get the following error

if I use the file manager under Host then it is ok.

If I export an template then I get a similar error

can any one shed some light on this

I am at a loss to know what is causing it.

check the files and folders tables in your database for invalid or duplicate entries.

you were right - in the folders table there was a reference to a folder 426 in the gallery folder which should have been 406 - how it got the entry is unknown.

However I would have assumed that when you did a sync the database would be sync'ed to the actual folders ie delete any files/folder referenced in the table that no longer exist and then rebuild the files and folder tables with the files and folders that actually exist.

 

Thus if a client uses say ftp to move files etc to the server or uses ftp to delete files folders then the sync function would simply rebuild the tables to match the actualphysical layout of the portal directories.

Maintanance of tables Files and Folders has been enhanced in later versions, I suggest an upgrade.

Rebuilding the tables from the scratch is impossible, because these are main point of information in several situations (file links are now done mostly using fileID, which is an autoincrement in file table).
