I usually hear this from my wife ... but, I digress.

DNN is mind-blowingly awesome. I am enthralled with it so far.

With that said, is it secure?

SQL Injection? Google-Hackable? Hi-Jack-able?

I realize that aftermarket modules are "all bets are off", but straight out of the box, how does it hold up?

yes, DotNetNuke is secure, the core team cares for security and does security review of core changes as well as module releases, that get packaged with the core. This does not mean, that there is not a single issue, but we try to find them and fix them as soon as possible. Please read the security policy and bulletins to be found in News > Security Bulletins menu above.

Cheers from Germany,

Marc:

Also bear in mind that DNN is an ASP.Net application running on IIS and it will be as secure as the weakest link in the configuration.  The server and IIS must be configured properly following best practices for IIS Web sites.  There is a lot of documentation about this on this site as well as Microsoft's.

Yup, I have been snooping around Google and other then the usual suspects, it looks pretty good.

I am configuring IIS now. Everything, then, depends on these next few hundred keystrokes.

No pressure though ...
