I noticed a new site on emily's hub (http://www.emilychang.com/go/ehub/):  bitNami.  It has the admirable goal of creating freely available stacks of the most popular open source web applications. Their poll to suggest a new package (like say, DotNetNuke) is here:  http://bitnami.org/polls  I have already seen posts indicating DotNetNuke has been successfully (with what I thought showing impressive performance) installed on Unix platforms...

To see the stacks they've already created, take a look here:  http://bitnami.org/stacks

Thoughts?

You can only run DNN for free on a Windows platform. There's no MSSQL on *nix, MySQL connector is not ready yet and Oracle connector is not free.

I have seen it a couple of times.  I dug up these examples:

http://forums.asp.net/p/889184/940028.aspx - May 2005 - DNN running on Tomcat 5.0 on Linux using PostgreSQL 8.0 as a database.

Take a look at http://dev.mainsoft.com

http://www.smedia.info/dotnetnuke-features.asp - seems to mention DotNetNuke on MYSQL in UNIX/MYSQL version and Deluxe Version   doubtful?

I there was another mention out on the forums...I'll try to find it.

Found it.  Same site (dev.mainsoft.com) I found googling: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/112/threadid/181043/scope/posts/Default.aspx
