Apparently some kind of setting has been changed in my DNN installation, but I cannot seem to figure out which.

An example of an notification email  pasted below. If anyone knows what has gone bad, I'd really appreciate any advice in this matters.

It seems as the problem has arisen after updating from 4.6.2 to 4.7

Martin,

please check the text in the language file using the language editor in Host :: Languages (default file) and its Host adoption (switch to host mode) as well as Admin :: Languages  for Portal specific adoption

Hi Sebastian,

All ressourcefiles seems to be correct....

Does the MACHINE DECRYPTION KEY created when the DotNetNuke installation is initialized have any influence on the emails sent out by the DNN Framework?

I would doubt it (actually I'm quite sure it wouldn't, but I didn't write the code and could be worng).  This looks exactly like an incorrect language coding.  Take a look at the message headers and see if there's anything odd.

no, texts are not encrypted. I have no idea what happens to your emails, might the character set get encoded differently or sth like this?
