Greetings,

I'm in the process of setting up a DotNetNuke portal for a new non-profit organization.  I got the site up and running very easily and I like how DotNetNuke works.  But, I am having difficulty setting up the site as an actual "Social Network."  I would like to have features like other popular sites like Facebook or Youtube where our members can create their own home pages, etc.  But, I don't know which DNN features to install to allow that.

Are there any tutorials or books on social networking features?

Thanks.

features like this are announced for DNN5, currently you will need 3rd party modules, have a look at www.snowcovered.com or marketplace.dotnetnuke.com

StarryNightDave,

While I don't know of any tutorials or books on the social networking features of DotNetNuke (and available to DotNetNuke from vendors), I can say that the Blog can be an important part of a social networking site, and that DotNetNuke comes with a core Blog module.

Also, you may want to look into the User Profile module at Smart Thinker or My Profile from DNNFusion

Hope that helps,

Ian

Ian looks to be typing a little slow today and Sebastian keeps beating him to the punch.
