I maybe creating a site that could pententially have around 50,000 subportals to it (one for each person). Is this way outside the bounds of DNN sanity? What's the highest number of subportals that you have run on an installation?

there has been a guy complaining, that DNN does not support more than ~ 10.000 portals, but IMO management of such big number becomes a nightmare (e.g. having to select one from a download list) and would require additional management tools.

Rather than a DNN question... I think this may be beyond the sanity of shared hosting in general :)

You might consider what the requirements you are trying to meet really are.  Perhaps the solution could be implemented in some other way than utilizing sub-portals.  Is it necessary that they all be related this way, or would it be possible to break them down into logical groupings for physicial segratation, etc.  These are basic IT design considerations, rather than anything DNN specific.

Sounds exciting anyway.... good luck!

I know, it sounds nuts and like a bad support nightmare, but I had to ask. Basically a client has 50,000 sales consultants. Each "need" their own site and tools to manage and engage their clients (users).

Thanks for repying Scott and Sebastian. I may have more in the way of details in the future, once the client gets a better idea of what they want to accomplish.
