Hey,

I wish to have a forum in my DNN site (Active Forum), however I only want to limit staff logins to use the forum... Is this possible with DNN?

I will have general customer logins where users can login to see special pages, however I want another set of 'staff' users that can login and have access to the DNN Module Active Forums.

Just wondering if anyone has done it or can give me any idea.

Thanks.

First off, Active Forums is an awesome module with great support.  I've been using it almost 3 years now.

The answer to your question is yes and there are multiple ways to do it.  In all cases, you need to create a staff role in DNN and assign to your staff members.

(1) Use DNN basic security on the page where AF resides to allow view only by people with the staff role.  The page will be hidden by DNN for users not having the staff role.

(2) You can also use the role security in AF to restrict the forums in AF to various roles and even have it hide forums that users don't have access to.
