Will this work on shared hosting on godaddy?

I'm having the same issue and they seem clueless at the moment.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike are you having this problem in Godaddy hosting?

I have the economy plan and i'm having this report in one of my installations.

I get the following message: "...

Unhandled Error

Error Details

File
Error   The transaction log for database 'dat....' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases

..."

Did you fix it ? with this solution? I'm getting a little bit nervous because i don't know if i will broke the DB. My company site is working there!!

Thanks,
João

Joao I finally got support to understand the problem and they went and truncated the log. It took awhile to get them to understand. The way I did it was to send them a screen shot and they sent it to a higher tier right away.

Now my database is bloated. 30% of the size in unallocated space and they will not give me permissions to run shrinkdatabase and seem to refuse to run it for me. So this my new dilemma.

Mike, I have my problem solved too. But it takes a lit bit longer them i thought. The logs are limited (trucated by them i presume) to 100MB. They have to pass the problem to a higher level and yesterday I receive a message saying that the problem is solved. And it is. The worst issue is what you refer there's no way to perform a Shrink or any other system command and probably I will get the problem soon! Thanks anyway for your help.

Someone with a clue at the hosting service should be managing the SQL Server - including backups and the kinds of maintenance that truncates the transaction log. Unless you have the kind of plan that gives you both lots of freedom and control - and therefore responsibility - this isn't typically something you should have to worry about.
