Hi experts

I am about to buy my first Vista laptop. I expect I'll end up using Visual Studio 2008, not Express.

What's the recommended configuration for commercial DotNetNuke module development, i.e. what version of Vista and what version of VS 2008?

Regards

Geoffrey

Hey Geoffrey,

I develop on a laptop that currently runs Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite on Vista Ultimate. However, my team suite is a trial, and I will move to Team Developer when the trail expires (Team Developer comes with our MSDN subscription...)

I mean, if you can afford to, I would shoot for Vista Ultimate and 2008 Team Suite -- but that might be overkill.  I always prefer to not be limited in resources....

Here is a product comparison for Visual Studio 2008 - http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/products/cc149003.aspx

Take care,

Ian

I use Vista x64 Ultimate and VS2008 Team System.  the really cool thing about the Team System editions is you can use the integrated Team Explorer Client with CodePlex as well as Team Foundation Server.  If you just go with VS2008 make sure you get Professional so you get the integrated Unit Testing tools.
